Our Story

What if a young, determined entrepreneur, driven by the love for his family, took a leap of faith into an unknown city, and defied his humble beginnings to build an extraordinary legacy?

Casa Rodriguez, Inc. has been serving the Rio Grande Valley for the last 18 years. We first opened in 2005 in Brownsville, Texas, but our story extends much further, beginning with the admirable story of a hard-working entrepreneur, Marte Rodriguez.

In 1949, Marte Rodriguez moved from a small city in Mexico, Cruillas, to Matamoros when he was just 12 years old. Being the eldest among his nine siblings, he ventured alone to a new city in search of a better life for himself and his family. He began working in a small hardware store, taking on different roles since it was a small business. And in 1962, after gaining more experience and receiving support from his boss, he decided to start his own hardware store, Tlapaleria y Ferreteria Rodriguez S.A. de C.V. 

Driven by the responsibility to support his family, he worked tirelessly to establish and develop his own company. Despite having to navigate through his numerous responsibilities, Marte settled down and created a loving family of his own. Growing up, his seven children were involved in helping out in the business when needed, and after graduating from their respective universities, some of them joined their father to help the business grow. The business soon began to do well, and three more stores were eventually opened in Matamoros: Ferreteria Rodriguez Lauro Villar, Casa Rodriguez Ferreteros Mayoristas S.A. de C.V., and Casa Rodriguez Design Center.

In 2004, the eldest son, Augustin Marte Rodriguez, decided to expand the business across the border in Brownsville. Although the business had prospered in Mexico, it was uncertain whether it would also experience the same success in another country. However, the risk and uncertainty did not deter his entrepreneurial spirit from taking a leap of faith and seizing the opportunity. 

We understand the importance of family. It is what drives us. By providing our products and services, we strive to help families create a loving home where they can share their happiness and joy with one another.
